#12 Staring Into Space

I followed a step by step demonstration from a book for this one. Not one of my favourites if I'm honest but my wife likes it a lot!!!

Taking the 100 Painting Abstract Challenge!!!

I originally started this blog in 2013. I used to draw incredibly detailed pencil drawings from photographs. However, over time I found myself losing enjoyment in my art and I felt I was getting obsessed with trying to get my drawings perfect and more photo realistic. I have always being intrigued by abstract art but, until now, I never had the confidence to give it a go. So I decided to try and paint 100 abstract paintings and blog will detail my progress and journey into abstraction, moving away from the need to copy and toward painting with freedom, imagination and expression. Why 100 paintings? Well it gives you the chance to explore your chosen direction and medium more and gets you in the habit of producing work on a regular basis, making mistakes, improving and growing in confidence along the way. By focusing on 100 paintings I can forget about perfection, and begin to paint for the practise of it, learn what works and what doesn't work, improving and enjoying the journey along the way. This blog will journal my progress and I hope it will be of interest to you.

Since I started this blog I have stopped and started painting abstractly so many times, I guess I just lost confidence in myself but I am committed once more to completing the 100 painting challenge!!!
